Why take another's word, when you can prove it yourself
Charles R. Collins, Jr.
I often wondered if any good was coming from my prayers. Now I know the answer. It is an unquestionable "Yes!"
For many years I have blessed my food at mealtimes, and said my prayers when I retired at night. However, I have often wondered how I could prove to myself that I was reaching anything. Being interested in plants, I read of methods of testing prayer power on them which intrigued me. Since I travel extensively, I desired a simple method with quick results. Therefore, I did the following:
I cut off some carrot tops, placed the tops in water, in two separate bowls. I then placed the bowls, marked Set A and Set B, on my window ledge.
I told the tops in Set A that they were ugly and directed them to wilt and be deformed.
For Set B I held my hand over the tops and blessed them, and encouraged them to grow. I said, "May the Lord's will be done," and told them to grow in a perfect way.
This was done only once a day to each set. To my surprise, within one week the tops in Set B were three times taller than those in Set A.
It was interesting to note that Set A was deformed and, if anything that God created can be ugly, it was!
May I suggest that you try this experiment and you, too, will be amazed at the power of prayer!
