Note this working green house - it has a 6" insulated roof (see picture on home page) with a 4" concrete floor over top of a 4 inch instillation insulation and home south wall made with glass installed on both sides of 2X4's. It has only 2 windows one on the bottom west as shown above and one on the top east for cooling when needed.

It is so well insulated that only 3 nights in the past 25 years did we have to heat it at night. Then we used a propane gas light. This gives off enough heat to hold it at the proper temperature.

We have a double glass sliding door which we open in the winter to heat our bed room area - using passive solar heat.

As you see Fran is growing our winter greens as well as a few flowers - sorry you cannot see outside, but it is snowing.
